You know the Lord is working in your life when He sets a prayer in motion. A prayer of finding the person you are to spend the rest of your life with as one. We don’t know it right away, it takes time, but when it does happen it rocks your world and leaves your cup over filled. That is what happened to me (Cate) and my girls (Erin, Kaycee). And the amazing thing is the Lord was working in another person’s prayers for someone to share his life with (Bob). His plans for us are perfect and in his time.
Bob & I started dating and were married in 2000 on a snowy autumn day. For the next few years we were living in the world and not in Christ. As time passed, our family realized that there was an emptiness that could not be filled by the life we were living, although we had numerous discussions about going back to church, we didn’t pursue it at that time. It is amazing how the Lord will work in your heart and your families’ heart. His desire is to have a relationship with you and to come back to his loving home. Around 2009, we, as a family made a decision to find a church so that we could help our daughter raise her daughter and have a solid Christian foundation. Calvary Chapel Aurora soon became home to us. We found that Christ was indeed the missing piece we were seeking to fulfill the emptiness in our family.
To this date we continue to serve in various ministries in Calvary. We have served on short term missions in Asia and Mexico. Cate has had it on her heart for us to go into the mission field as a team. Let us share our story with you.
“As each one has received a gift, minister to one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” -1 Peter 4:10
And so we go!!!
Bob did not have the same connection and was waiting on the Lord for bringing us together as a team. In the fall of 2015, while we were on a fall break vacation in Granby, CO, Bob began speaking in tongues during his morning prayer time. He has never spoken in tongues before and soon after he had a vision to step out in faith and go into the mission field full-time. For those of you who know us, we work for ourselves and will be selling our businesses and get things in order to be able to hit the ground running. Our calling is in disaster relief and recovery. It is our desire to come along side families, local churches, and relief groups to serve in the areas of disaster relief and recovery in our own backyard (stateside).
In Romans 12:10-11 Paul’s letter to the church, he said;
“Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another, not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord.”
As we continue to seek the Lord’s will for us and where He will send us, we ask for your prayers and support to send us out into the field and spread the Gospel as we reach out to the communities that cross our path.
Isaiah 6:8 shares with us “Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?’ Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.'”
Our calling is for domestic mission work where we can be a part of what God will do in areas afflicted by disasters in our own backyard.
Thank you so much for your visiting this site, please let us know how we can be in prayer for you and your family.
